Inaugural Mentorship Awards: A Collective Impact Approach  

Mentoring for All is proud to present the inaugural Mentorship Awards to celebrate the power of mentorship by honoring exceptional mentors and programs that foster equitable, diverse, and inclusive opportunities for mentees. These mentors and programs advance mentorship by demonstrating intentional innovative and collaborative efforts. Additionally, outstanding mentees are recognized for their active engagement and contributions to a thriving mentorship culture. 

Eligibility 

Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni are encouraged to submit a nomination or a self-nomination.  

Please note that some categories require formal participation in a mentorship program and/or program with a mentorship component while others do not.  

Award Categories 

Sense of Belonging Mentorship Award 

• Honors exceptional mentors, both undergraduate and graduate, who foster a strong sense of community, acceptance, and support for their mentees at UC San Diego. 

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Mentorship Award 

• Celebrates mentors excelling in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. This award is for undergraduate or graduate mentors who go above and beyond in supporting and inspiring their mentees’ journeys in STEM. 

Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences Mentorship Award 

• Celebrates mentors excelling in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences fields. This award is for undergraduate or graduate mentors who go above and beyond in supporting and inspiring their mentees’ journeys in the field. 

Colleges-Based Mentorship Award 

• Highlights outstanding undergraduate mentors within college-based mentorship programs who exemplify their College’s mission and values. 

Faculty and Staff Mentorship Award 

• Recognizes faculty and staff who provide outstanding, equity-minded mentorship creating a student-centered experience for undergraduate and/or graduate mentees.  

Alumni Mentorship Award  

• Honors alumni who provide outstanding mentorship to undergraduate and/or graduate students. These alumni give back to the UC San Diego community by generously lending their time and service as mentors to strengthen their mentees’ support networks. 

Mentorship Program/Mentorship Component Award  

• Highlights outstanding UC San Diego mentorship programs, or programs with a mentorship component, that exhibit equity-minded mentorship and implementation of a collective impact framework for the advancement of mentorship and support to its student participants.  

Outstanding Mentees Award  

• Recognizes undergraduate and graduate mentees that exhibit a high level of engagement in mentorship, not only in their role as mentees, but in supporting the growth of knowledge about mentorship opportunities for other students.
